The 2004 Year in Review Reflection Page!

(Thank you to *EVERYONE* Who Has Supported Me!)

January 1, 2005

2004 ... What an amazing journey it has been! Below is my official pictorial reflecting on my life in 2004. I trust you'll enjoy it! :)

Personally, New Year's is one of the most important holidays out there. I'm convinced that for the wise, the entrance of the new year is a "spiritual milemarker" and helpful guidepost for assessing how far one has come in the last year (blessings?, achievements?, disappointments?) and what we would desire to do (goals? dreams? adventures?) in the next year of our precious time on earth.

In a spiritually dead world that would love nothing more than to keep us "small" and distracting from pursuing our life callings, your encouragement and friendship has meant so much to me. As webmaster of ColoradoGuy.com, I assure you of my commitment to entertain, inspire and challenge your to live deep within your hearts, and to use their time wisely to honor the God who gave us life. Sadly, there really are quite a few foolish, misguided and hostile "conventional ones" who have attempted to put me in "my place" of retreating to the non-essentials (mediocrity?, materialism? giving in to phoniness?), but I say, today is a good day for a fight!

Friends, I can not do this web site without your love and partnership. With as much "heartfeltness" that I can muster as I type ... Thank you for being such an integral part of my life!

From my heart to yours, I love you! - Steve :)

You know just how wonderful it was if you were there! ;)
Hair Consultant Phil
Laloo Chris
Special thanks to all three brave souls who ran for Hair Consultant in the 2004 election. Phil (above) defeated both Laloo and Chris in a very spirited election! As Hair Consultant, Phil served honorably but was criticized for not being accessible enough for Steve. With his approval rating dropping, the "final straw" was when Phil failed to attend the web site's annual barbeque, and he was fired weeks later by Steve. (Click here to learn more about the position of Hair Consultant!)

I tried to duplicate my 2003 Across Colorado Bike Trip with a Straight Down" New Mexico trip. I did well for two days in June reaching Santa Fe, but honestly, my heart was into it. Who knows? I just might return to Santa Fe in '05 to finish the ride.
I chose this picture (scrambling down loose scree from Mt. Bross) to represent my personal growth for the year. I worked very hard all year in therapy and I'm confident I am a much better and freer person from 12 months ago. This particular picture is meaningful to me, because I had a "God moment" as I scurried down the unnerving path from Mt. Bross to Kite Lake. Thank you Lord! :)
I joined the ranks of eHarmony.com membership in April and among approximately 500 matches, I met five in person. All five, coincidentally, are photographed on this web site! :) Special thanks to Anne (left - Lovell Gulch Trail) and Tara (right - Great Sand Dunes) for being such cute hiking assistants!
I'll symbolize work with this road photo from Garden of the Gods. My counseling career has had quite a journey in 2004. I started the year unemployed, then in March I convinced a non-profit that desperately need a therapist to hire me. I created a counseling program on my own, only to resign two months later because of some unprofessional things I saw. In late summer, I was hired as a therapist for troubled teenagers, which I'm doing today.

The forums and chat room have been busier and more fun than ever! While there are so many wonderful and positive "regulars" on the forums, "Littlehands" of Falcon, Colorado deserves special mention for her remarkble love, friendliness and dedication to our forums throughout the year. Thank you Little! :) (Zoom-in photo is of "The Village Idiot", "Jeep Chick" and "Littlehands" at the ColoradoGuy Festival.)

Bottom: Thank you to all who donated financially to this web site! In 2004, the Donor Forum and Member Forum (middle photo) were created as perks for those who give. Also, for those who donate $50 or more, I created an entire Members Area (ColoradoGuyMembers.com) with an extensive library of video clips and other exclusive content. Mark Garufi My older brother Dave and his wife added Caroline to their family, along with Jack. My younger brother Mark (right), is currently living in Thailand indefinitely. (Mark sent me some amazing Thai pictures; I'll put one up when I can find them on my computer!)
Hooray! I adopted a highway! :)
Special thanks to all those who helped pick up garbage throughout the year: January 2004, Spring 2004, Fall 2004, Adopt Highway Scandal

A new annual web site holiday was created: ColoradoGuy Drama Queen Day! As a way to honor, reflect on and mock all the freaky drama queens who visited my web site and went wacko on the forums (Two "meltdowns" happened in January and August '04), the last Friday in January has been reserved as Drama Queen Day. (Formerly known as "Poo Poo Day" in January 2004.) Photo near Guffey, CO.

Let's just say I received quite a lesson in grace on that day. I am such a fortunate and blessed man! :)
