Alma, Colorado
2005 Photos - It's a small town between Fairplay
and Breckenridge, south of Hoosier Pass.
Grand mountain scenery outside of town. There are a number of 14ers and 13ers in the Mosquito Range, located west of Alma.
My guess, that highest point may be the summit of Mount Bross ... or at least it's its upper slopes.
Looking west towards Mosquito Gulch.
The road that leads to Kite Lake
begins in Alma. The mountain scenery on this road is downright stunning. Kite Lake also serves as a campground and basecamp for the trailhead to
Mt. Democrat, Mt. Lincoln and Mt. Bross. All three of those mountains are 14ers that are commonly hiked in one day.
The Alma Fire House & Museum.
Inside a local coffee & ice cream shop,
was a very nice piece of photography celebrating the spirit of the residents.
Alma is located in this large region of Park County that's known as South Park.
Yes, there really is a South Park in Colorado! The South Park Saloon plays on the TV show's theme. Love their menu!
