PLANO, TX -- Martha (a.k.a. "Dancing Fool"), an Internet friend well-known and adored for her habit of baking and mailing goodies to Steve, announced her candidacy for Hair Consultant in the April 2003 election.

A single, 24-year-old waitress and college student in suburban Dallas, Martha stated she "really want(s) to help Steve take care of those gorgeous curls!" Her campaign to be Steve's chief adviser in growing out his long hair emphasized the basics of hair care.

"My job (if elected Hair Consultant) is to make sure that Steve does the basic things like comb out his hair everyday and use good shampoos and conditioners." said Martha.

"I know a lot of people have been fired in the past," said Martha, "but I honestly don't care if Steve fires me. If he can't handle my advice about his hair, then that's his problem." exclaimed Martha, alluding to the controversial 'revolving door' pattern of recent Hair Consultants.

Martha also made the first campaign promise of the election season: If she is elected, she pledges to visit Steve in Colorado in the summer to look first hand at Steve's hair and meet the local ColoradoGuy community in Manitou Springs.

Martha was pleased with the reapportionment of the 2003 electoral college and is confident of victory. "I think it's great that Texas has 30 electoral votes ... but I don't have that stereotypical accent like a lot of Texans do." contended Martha.

An avid cook who loves to bake for others, Martha sent Steve a large care package filled with snickerdoodle cookies and other yummy treats in July. During the Christmas season, Martha baked up an impressive assortment of cookies that arrived at Steve's mailbox as well.

"Let me tell you, Martha is such a good cook! She rocks for all the food she sends me." stated Steve, "I think Martha can win this election if she puts her mind to it."

Steve and Martha originally met on a singles' web site on the Internet and they speak intermittently on the telephone. Their relationship is platonic.
