(Freaky Manitou Resident Agrees to Be His Campaign Manager)
March 3, 2004
MANITOU SPRINGS, CO -- Boki Evans, a regular patron at Spice of Life Café
and well-known "sidekick" of Steve on this web site, voiced his full support
for Hair Consultant candidate Phil McWilliams (see small photo on left) in the upcoming mid-April election.
Holding a piece of paper with the letter "P", Boki gave
his wholehearted support for the 21-year-old's desire to guide Steve in growing his hair
as long as possible.
"Phil is one of us (in Manitou) and I
am going to be his campaign manager."
said Boki, as he drank his Bokimatti
Breve with suds of the gourmet drink on the ends of his lips.
"You see everyone in this coffee shop? I'm
going to make sure that they vote for Phil. How couldn't they?" reasoned Boki.
Boki's get-out-the-vote efforts seem
to be already paying off, especially among voters in the small, historic town of Manitou Springs.
Rob Sharp
(right picture), a local resident who passionately voices his support for
the legalization of marijuana stated, "I know Phil. I'll probably vote for
him even though I don't get this Hair Consultant stuff." he said.
Phil was not present at the café and
local Manitou hangout during Boki's announcement,
but he is expected to "be around" on the weekend.
Boki, the popular 43-year-old local resident
is best known for his unsuccessful
campaign run for Hair Consultant in 2002, in which he narrowly lost by
just five votes in the Manitou Springs district,
the "Florida" of the electoral college back then.
This web site has featured Boki at the
Manitou Center for Photography and
when he criticized the Hair Consultant who defeated him. Boki also
drove Steve all the way to the Four Corners Monument
for his failed Cross-Colorado bike trip in June 2002. (Steve would be successful in 2003.) Lastly, Boki was also featured
eating a pancake like the freak of nature that he usually is in real life.
The latest poll showed a two candidate race with Phil
trailing Laura "Laloo" Johnson
of California by a 3 to 2 margin.
The informal
poll gauged popular voting opinion at: "Laloo" 45%, Phil 30%
and Chris 2%. 23% of the ColoradoGuy community are presently undecided.
