FARMINGTON, NEW MEXICO -- Hair Consultant candidate Dave Ortiz (adjacent and bottom picture) gave a press release yesterday touting his frequent communication with Steve (via phone and e-mail) is an advantage that he has over this year's slate of candidates.

Dave, known by the nickname of "Radial Spokes" on the forums and Steve's #1 road bicycling partner, also said he is "reliable" and has "knowledge of hair products."

"Dave definitely keeps in touch and has shown quite a bit of zeal and passion about my hair." said Steve 'ColoradoGuy' Garufi, "I think he'd be a Hair Consultnat like no other ... but that's if he gets elected."

"My belief is I'd be a good Hair Consultant because I'm reliable, have knowledge of hair care products and I'm educated about health/wellness issues related to hair.

I also maintain verbal and electronic contact with Mr. Garufi on a regular basis, which should be a requirement to keep as an active participant during the Hair Consultant position.

Although at present I'm devouring pain killers under the watchful eye of a medical doctor, it shouldn't hamper my efforts to help keep Steve's hair growing long, shiny and split-end free.

I will never recommend Steve to use greasy hair gels or salad dressing-based hair tonics on his curly locks. Steve lives in a mountainous part of the U.S. where mountain men wear deerskin jackets, handlebar moustaches and long hair. It is my elected promise to insure that Steve can at least look locally fashionable with his long flowing hair glistening in the bright mountain sunlight."
