COLORADO SPRINGS, COLORADO -- Scott Baker (known as "Scotott" on the ColoradoGuy forums), a fellow hiker and friend of Steve, endorsed Florida Pete as the best candidate for Hair Consultant in the upcoming 2006 Hair Consultant election in mid-April.

"(I) may as well announce now that Pete has won the show." wrote Scott on the Friendship Board.

Scott is considered a close friend of Steve "ColoradoGuy" Garufi, and his endorsement is expected to give Florida Pete a significant bump in the polls. Furthermore, Scott plans to "get out the vote" with all of his friends in South Carolina (where he grew up) and Colorado Springs.

"Pete has a deep understanding of being a man with short and long hair. He has the full experience. Again, I say, he understands the unique challenges of a man with long hair in this challnging world." added Scott.

Personal Attacks And "Backbiting"

Tonje in Norway (known as "Nerdolita" on the forums - and a supporter of Sarah) gave a terse comment implying Scott may have been under the influence of drugs when he made his endorsement.

"What are YOU on about, Scott???" wrote Tonje.

"Oh here we go again with the attacks and the backbiting that always comes with these elections." said Steve, the person who's most affected by the winner of the election, "I just wish people would avoid the personal attacks and stick to the issues."

Scott has been photographed on this web site on numerous occasions. He participated in Colorado adventures at Tennessee Pass, Fremont Pass and a snow pictures pictorial. He was also photographed while eating an omelette breakfast with green chili at a restaurant in Buena Vista, Colorado.

Florida Pete (adjacent photo) was not available for comment because he worked much of the day on Friday and did not get a chance to check in on the forums.

This year's Hair Consultant election will be held on April 13-16, 2006, and all are encouraged to vote to decide who should be the encourager and coach for Steve in reaching his long hair goals.
