Florida Pete Criticized For "Selling Out" With Choosing Short Hair

Sarah: "Pete Obviously Does Not Value Long Hair; Steve Calls Him "Spineless"
(March 20, 2006)

BUENA VISTA, CO - The very unpleasant aspects of political campaigning reared its ugly head today in this year's Hair Consultant election ... as it usually does!

Hair Consultant candidate "Florida Pete" Harrison was criticized sharply by fellow candidate Sarah B. for Pete's decision to cut his long hair amidst pressure from his wife and career. Pete used to have great-looking long hair, but "sold out" a long time ago to impress conservative people, "the establishment" and others who might look down upon him with long hair.

"If Pete would cut his own hair for his wife and job, I'm sure he would advise you to do the same. Pete obviously doesn't value long hair." wrote Sarah B. in Idaho (photo below), "It's tragic, really."

Steve "ColoradoGuy" Garufi also had harsh words upon learning the news, and in the heat of the moment, called Pete "spineless".

"I really do think it's disturbing that Pete caved in and cut his hair to impress whomever. To me, that's kind of spineless." said Steve (bottom left photo).

"I've paid quite a price for having long hair and I'm very proud of it." added Steve, who insisted that despite the news about Pete, he is still undecided and will not publicly endorse a candidate. (Steve has only stated that he would be happy with any of the four candidates becoming his Hair Consultant.)

Florida Pete was not available for comments because he holds a regular job during weekdays. Scott Baker of Colorado Springs, a regular visitor on the ColoradoGuy forums and the vocal supporter of Pete's campaign, refused to comment despite learning of the news by e-mail.

This is not the first time a Hair Consultant election has gone negative with critical attacks on one another. In the past, candidates have been slammed for being a weasel, labeled as "drama queens" and "liars" and ridiculed for their political beliefs.

"I want you to know I will not be participating (i.e. voting) in your Hair Consultant election if it was as negative as it was last year." wrote Darlene in Atlanta, Georgia, in an e-mail to Steve.

The upcoming Hair Consultant election will be held from April 13-16, and there are four candidates (Pete, Sarah, Chris and Dave) vying for the position of being the top encourager for Steve in reaching his long hair growth goals.
