HELEN HUNT FALLS in North Cheyenne Canyon (Colorado Springs, CO)
April 29, 2004
Helen Hunt Falls Helen Hunt Falls Apparently a popular actress in our day is named Helen Hunt, but in Colorado's settlement era, this waterfall was named after a well-regarded Helen Hunt of that particular time period. On this cloudy morning, I ventured from downtown Colorado Springs to visit Helen Hunt Falls in North Cheyenne Canyon.

How To Get There: From Colorado Springs, travels west on Cheyenne Boulevard toward the mountains. Enter into North Cheyenne Canyon, pass the discovery center and Mt. Cutler Trailhead on your left, and the Helen Hunt sign (left photo) will be seen approximately one mile up the canyon.

Three photos of this pretty and well-visited waterfall.

Other Colorado waterfalls:

  • Rainbow Falls (Manitou Springs)
  • Cascade Falls (Ouray)
  • Agnes Vaille Falls (Chaffee County)
  • Bridal Veil Falls (Telluride)
  • A walkway ascends to the top of the waterfall, and a trail continues for a short distance uphill. Adjacent are two views.

    My other Colorado Springs pages:

  • Seven Bridges Trail
  • Manitou Incline
  • Williams & Waldo Canyon
  • Red Mountain
  • Mt. Cutler Trail
  • A nice view of Mt. Cutler from the trail.
    A pretty flower!
