Jackie Visits Manitou Springs (Steve Shows Her Around!) - March 2002
My friend Jackie who lives in Divide came to visit me today in Manitou, but she was never really enthused with all my picture taking. :) |
Oh but did we have fun! We first had breakfast at Breadheads. That was her plate! I got the same thing except my eggs were fried. |
By the way, Jackie is in the Air Force. She's a tough woman ... Don't mess with her! :) |
Last night we had a nasty snowstorm and today all the roads and sidewalks were a mess, but that didn't stop us from having fun! |
I wore my Gumby shirt that I got for Christmas. |
After breakfast, Bud at the Dulcimer Shop performed for us. This guy is talented! |
With the Hair Consultant election only weeks away, I wanted Jackie to meet Donna, one of the candidates... |
...then we went over to Spice of Life Cafe and I introduced Jackie to another candidate, Boki. |
So we walked around town and it was just amazing how the snow was sticking to tree branches. |
I'm telling you, we had a busy day. We stopped by the Manitou Arcade and Jackie got some Hot Tamales, one of my favorite candies! :) |
Then we walked over to the Cliff House and this really friendly employee named Cody showed us around. |
He showed us a number of guest rooms including this decorated hardwood floor in the main lobby. |
This conference room didn't have much furniture, but the interior decorating was splendid! |
Alright, so I'm an interior decorating junkie! The dining area had a delightful mix of soft greens and yellows. I've got to dine there sometime! |
Then we drove up the Cave of the Winds road and I got a great shot of Williams Canyon as a winter wonderland! :) |
I'm serious! We went all over the place! At the Garden of the Gods Trading Post, I found this dancing-voodoo thing rather interesting. |
Ha ha ha ha! I love this picture! |
With everything covered in white, the drive through Garden of the Gods was really neat. (Picture taken inside car) |
That was our friendly waitress at The Keg. She and I both talked about having long, naturally curly hair. We long curlies need to stick together! :) |
I think, by the end of the afternoon, Jackie knew to cover her face when I brought out the camera. :) |
