JAVA THE HUT CAFE! Photos of Java The Hut in Woodland Park, Colorado
September 29, 2005
Java The Hut In Woodland Park!
Folks, if you love good coffee or enjoy sitting in cozy places moutainy places, you need to check out Java The Hut! ;)
Cup of Coffee The don't serve High Rise Coffee (one of my proud advertisers; Their Web Site), but their coffee is quite good anyway!
In the larger sit-down area, you'll have some really nice views of Pikes Peak. I actually took this picture while standing on the second floor balcony! Java The Hut is located right on Highway 24, directly across from the Dinosaur Resource Center and "caddy corner" to the Hungry Bear Restaurant.
Now Java The Hut is definitely an outdoor and 14er friendly cafe. They sell all sorts of outdoor gear, topographical maps, Colorado hiking, scenery and informational books and other Colorado-ish type gifts.
A nice shot of the staff. I don't know the girl's name in the middle, but Brian and Vi (on the outside) are the owners. They know so much about almost all of the 14er hikes because they've done them themselves!
Two more photos of the insides. Notice the hardwood walls in the left photo. Folks, this is a neat coffee shop.

Studying For the NCE Exam at Java The Hut (Same Day As Above Photos - Sept. 2005)
So I was in Woodland Park today where my car was being worked on, and I had a few hours to spend. I decided to study for the NCE (National Counselor Exam) at Java The Hut. This is the main book I'm studying, and notice the ColoradoGuy bumper sticker being used as a bookmark! ;)

I actually photographed three questions from the Human Growth & Development section. I got all three questions right, but keep in mind that I've been studying for this! ;)

Try to answer the questions and I'll give the answers way down at the bottom! ;)

Old Pictures: A Visit To Java The Hut With Dory (November 2003)
Here are some old photos of my time with Dory at Java The Hut two years ago. (Dory checks out a Colorado calendar for sale.)
Dory and I decided to play checkers ...
... and I lost my temper at one point when things got a little heated competition wise.

Also, you'll note I'm wearing the light blue tie-dye t-shirt that was in the news recently for still having its tag on it. :(
I met a guy named Randy there, and I told him about my web site and he visited right there! ;)
