Krispy Kreme Doughnuts! Jeremy & Steve Wait In Two-Hour Line at Franchise Opening!
March 30, 2001
After class, Jeremy and I
drove through a snowstorm to get on a 2-hour long line to get some yummy
Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. Woo-hoo! I'll telling you now, it was soooooo worth the wait! :) |
The shop opened earlier this week, and being the franchise to operate in Colorado's history,
there were huge crowds waiting in line. (Some had camped out for two days before they opened!) Look at these photos: Do you realize how long that line is? And that's just to get inside the building! :p) |
After waiting for about an hour in the freezing cold, these loud and fun teenagers asked me to take a picture of them. The one flexing his muscles - he kept shouting to everyone inside the building to visit ColoradoGuy.com. Heh heh ... all that free advertising! ;) |
Finally we got inside, and the place was packed with people as the line goes back and forth in S's. |
Near 11 pm, after waiting on line for 1 1/2 hours, I was really getting tired. |
Oh guys! They had large windows for people to watch the making of the doughnuts! At first, the machine squirts out these small circular pieces of dough ... and they slowly go up and down in this heater-thing. |
Eventually they start to rise and get all puffed up. |
Then they go on a conveyer belt. Oh how I'd love to work there! :P |
Oh guys, I'm in love! I started to cry when I showed this picture to a friend on the digital camera. |
When I got to the counter and they handed me my doughnuts, I SCREAMED! The cashiers and manager were so friendly that I even got a photo of us together. |
Special thanks to Jeremy, who spent the evening with me
during the entire adventure. He's a really great guy and we had a great talk about life and "stuff" in his truck
while eating some of our doughnuts. |
Now the next morning, I had class again, and someone gave me money to buy five dozen doughnuts to bring to class. People cheered me as I walked in with those beautiful doughnuts! :) Also, check out the Krispy Kreme t-shirt I purchased. This was definitely in the pre-Herman era. :p) |
