Mueller State Park
October 18, 2003 - Today I hiked on trails in Mueller State Park in Teller County, Colorado. This is a popular area for camping, but it also has trails that are suitable for beginners. I have also heard this is a great spot for snowshoeing in the winter.

Directions: From the town of Divide, Colorado, travel south on Highway 67. The entrance is on your right (west).

Autumn Leaves Most leaves are gone, but I spotted this one aspen hanging onto its fall colors!
Mueller State Park, Colorado There's a nice lookout at the visitor center with pretty mountain scenery.

Autumn leaves shriveling on the ground.
Red Tail Overlook That's the view from Red Tail Overlook. It was so peaceful and quiet!
Steve Garufi I sat on a large rock and relaxed. Self-portrait included.

Other popular hikes and trails in the region:

  • Manitou Incline
  • The Crags
  • Colorado Mountain The area has nice mountain views of the west and southern sides of Pikes Peak.
