Afternoon Hike in MUELLER STATE PARK! - October 18, 2003
Mueller State Park! From Divide, it's about four miles south on Highway 67 in Teller County. |
LOOK! There was one last aspen hanging onto it's fall colors! |
There's a nice lookout at the visitor center. Kinda reminded me of Wilkerson Pass a little. |
The autumn leaves looked dried and shriveled on the ground. Ah well! (My two favorite autumn pictorials are Cottonwood Pass and Bonanza.) |
That's the view from Red Tail Overlook. It was so peaceful and quiet! |
I sat on a large rock for a good while and relaxed. On hikes like this, my water bottle is one of my best friends!
Other pictorials of me drinking my water bottle: Manitou Incline Williams Canyon
Oh! I keep taking pictures of my knees! :) |
I did read from my Bible for awhile. Check out all the miracles Jesus performed by clicking on this text in Matthew 16!
Other spiritual stuff on here: West Side Shrine Religion & Spirituality Forum Steve's Personal "Testimony" Two Year Anniversary & Ben's Journey |
There's some nice views of the mountains surrounding the west and southern face of Pikes Peak. |
I put all the AWFUL pictures together:
TOP LEFT: Leafless aspens. TOP RIGHT: Path with poor lighting. BOTTOM LEFT: Mt. Pisgah, poor lighting. BOTTOM RIGHT: Boring sign of trailhead. |
Two more uneventful pictures of my backpack and the map of the park.
Folks, if you're seeking solitude, this park may be for you. However, if you want drop-dead gorgeous scenery, hike The Crags which is practically across the highway! |
