New Mexico Bike Tour: Taos to Santa Fe (Day 2)

New Mexico Tipi As I biked away from Taos, there were three tipis as the sun rose in the morning.
Rio Grande in New Mexico
I rode through a scenic canyon where the Rio Grande flows. It's quite like the canyon from Salida to Canon City in Colorado, where the Arkansas River flows.
Mountain in New Mexico
Beautiful New Mexico scenery on the route.
Espanola, New Mexico

Espanola, New Mexico

Elevation 5590 feet.
Bridge Art A beautiful bridge in the Pojoaque Indian Reservation.
I saw many roadside monuments like this.
Hostel in Santa Fe, NM

Santa Fe

I arrived at the Santa Fe International Hostel! The people who run this place are really friendly. They have a large kitchen where those staying typically make meals together and socialize. This is a great hostel!

I also snapped a photo of the mural on their building.

If you like shopping for southwestern stuff, you'll like Santa Fe for sure.

The Bus Ride Back to Colorado

The short explanation is that I quit once I got to Santa Fe. I wasn't mentally prepared to bike through the lands of New Mexico in June. So I shipped my bike back home, and took a bus back to Colorado Springs.

Adjacent is one shot in the mountains between Eagle Nest, NM and Cimarron, NM.

New Mexico Bicycle Tour Once again, here's that map of New Mexico. As you can see, I only did about 25% of the state.
