Ouray, Colorado (Altitude 7,706 Feet)
April 2002
Ouray, Colorado! Located in the heart of the San Juan Mountains! |
It's a really amazing town. In fact, it's surrounded by mountains on all four sides! |
Just look at the beautifully painted colors on that building. I was SO IMPRESSED with the historically preserved old Victorian colors in town! |
Lots of really old-looking shops, just like Manitou Springs. |
I big mountain hovers over. (Looks much bigger in person) |
That's the view with my back towards Cascade Falls. |
Some have called Ouray "Little Switzerland." Well, this house fits right in then. |
I hate to admit it, but I didn't take any silly pictures of myself nor did I enjoy the hot springs offered in town. |
The bright red and shades of gray
look fabulous! |
That's the large mountain range looking east. (I think) |
It's just amazing. No matter what direction you look, there's mountains! |
If I was somehow forced out of Manitou, I think I'd live in this town. :) |
Looking down the main avenue... |
Look! That's the town library and police station! What a cool building! |
It's all mountains, mountains and mountains! |
Just look at those beautiful shades of green ... a splendid-looking building! |
I had a really great day in Ouray and looked on with pride when I saw the Colorado flag waving! |
A good shot of some mountains in Ridgeway, south of Ouray on Route 550. |
