Local Couple Adopts Steve as "Hunger Compassion Child"(Internet Bachelor Receives Free Leftovers On Regular Basis From Friends!)
December 25, 2004
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO -- Who says people have lost the Christmas spirit?
On Christmas Day, Colorado Springs couple Jayson and Susan Graves announced the adoption of
Steve "ColoradoGuy" Garufi as their "hunger compassion child" by giving monthly leftover food rations
to the underfed and microwave-dependent Internet personality.
"It puts a smile on our faces knowing there's one less empty stomach in our city." said Jayson (adjacent photo),
standing beside his wife who generously offered two dinner meals.
"I am so over overjoyed right now!" exclaimed Steve (photo below), who became
tearful and overwhelmed with emotion upon receiving
the dinner packages,
"This is the greatest Christmas I've ever had in my entire life."
Inside the plastic containers was a large slab of gourmet seasoned chicken with broccoli and pot roast with potatoes and carrots.
"The chicken was incredible and I liked broccoli too. I already finished that one." explained Steve the next day.
The Graves couple will continue to give Steve cooked food a minimum of once per month,
but since they like having Steve over their house for pictorials on this web site
(e.g. Crags hike, Thanksgiving
and '01 Land Rover), Steve believes he will be fed
home-cooked food at a greater rate.
Steve has received numerous care packages from other sympathetic web site visitors,
who seemed alarmed at Steve's disturbing eating habits.
As an example, "Kansas Kelly" Martin mailed a large box
filled with approximately $50 in groceries and other goodies to his
Manitou Springs apartment in July 2004.
"I trust Herman The Stomach will appreciate this as much as you will!" wrote Kelly, in a note inside the care package.
