Garufi Proposes Toast For His Elbows at New Year's Party
January 1, 2001
AVON, CO - Steve Garufi hailed 2001 as the
“Year of His Elbows” and boldly proposed a toast that proclaimed
benevolence and world transformation through his elbows.
With fifteen friends gathered together with drinks in hand at the New Year's Eve party,
Steve's friends gave toasts in the usual manner. Tributes were individually
given for health, happiness, good friends and other virtues of life.
However Garufi, notorious for his
discontentment with rituals and mundane formalities, blurted his outrageous citation.
“I just shouted, ‘Let’s have a toast to my beautiful elbows. May the
world be blessed and encouraged through my elbows!’” explained Steve afterwards.
With friends mystified and astounded, one heckler responded with sarcasm.
“Let’s have another toast then: May the
world never see Steve’s ugly elbows.” The rebuttal was followed with hearty laughter
at the social gathering.
Steve’s bizarre conversations about his elbows has not been new.
According to Garufi, the internet personality had a major breakthrough a year ago when he
gained a tremendous amount of self-confidence about his elbows.
Having psoriasis, a hereditary skin disorder that makes his skin
extremely dry and unsightly, Steve has never been eager about exhibiting his elbows.
“I have cute, adorable, kissable, knobby elbows!” declared Steve
shortly after Midnight at the time share owned by Anne Schnabbel, a friend from Horizons 16.
His personal affirmation, which he calls his ‘contract with his
elbows,’ was originally a gag to his serious, personal contract
that he created with himself as a trainee in Crossroads.
