Pictures of WILKERSON PASS: The Gateway to South Park

First of all, here's the view looking east towards Pikes Peak. |
However, the more scenic views are towards the west! |
You've got some great views of the Mosquito Range (near Breckenridge) to the Northwest, and the Collegiate Peaks (near Buena Vista) to the west. Also, please check out... Fall colors at Wilkerson Pass |
I stood in the middle of the highway for this one! ;) |
At the summit, there's a rest area with interesting signs.
Click to get the zoom-in shot and to read them! |
So that large, yellow plateau area is officially the region called South Park, and here's a picture it from space! :) |
There's a nice walking area with beautiful aspens at the rest area. |
There's a few benches too. People, this would be a neat place to have a picnic! ;) |
Now there's an actual building that's run by the Forest Service. You can walk around the building and look at the scenery.
This woman at the front desk was really friendly! |
Oh! Check out this tiny chipmunk! And look at him as he tried to eat my camera case! :-P |
I bought 16 attractive postcards to send to friends on my Friendship Board! |
Love, Steve :) |
